Crabs!! Yay!!

[Crabs need land patches... at least, hermits do. Does this mean that there are land patches for him? Ain is visibly excited about Crabs either way. Crabs and shramps and pleco!! Friends!

He starts chirping, a high and nonsensical excited noise. People here are going to hear him chirping. Clearly Add offered him something... but after that, Ain will trundle back on over to the party.

His ass is devouring these brownies on the table. Like, he's trained enough to use a plate and knows generally the rules of potlucks and potluck-like functions, but this does not stop his hungry ass from grabbing three of them and sitting down to devour them.]

[Oh Ain doesn't even know what's coming for him when he gets to Add's office...but that's a surprise for after the party, and Add hasn't eaten much yet. His boss is here, because duh, and she's about to grab his ear and twist it until he eats, so he'll fill a plate with moderately healthy snacks and take a seat next to Ain while he eats his brownies. He's not complaining about him eating too many sweets today. It's his party and he can eat fifty brownies if he wants to, but it's not his problem if he complains about feeling sick later.]

[Unfortunately this is only going to make Ain worse as a person. He's not even food-aggressive like others can be, he just likes eating. He loves Taste.

He eats his brownies, then steps back over to the table (haven gotten markedly better at walking since he's been allowed to wander more, so his gait is far less awkward and strange) and grabs some tiny sandwiches, fruit, and chips. Y'know, party food.

He sits down next to Add again. The next hour is full of him eating and learning words for foods and singing after songs that come on the radio in the room. One day he'll know enough humanspeak to copy the lyrics and then it's Over for everyone, it will be pop music brainrot hours for the rest of their lives.

[It is honestly...QUITE a lot of food to be eating, but just this once, it's being allowed to let Ain indulge. He'll swim it off, that or he'll just go into a food coma after the sugar rush wears off, either or. Eventually though, the party does wind down and Add's coworkers leave, many of them clocking out for the day since the party was the last thing they had planned to do. Add's already talked to his boss about it, but he's planning on spending tonight in his office just to keep an eye on Ain to see how he does in his new tank before letting him be in there alone for a week for observation on his own. For now though...

He'll (somehow) pry Ain away from the remnants of the snack table so he can actually check out his new tank, which...is massive.

Massive as in, it makes Add's already pretty-large office seem much smaller in comparison. The side of the wall where the tank was has had all of its things moved over, every shelf and piece of furniture, to allow the front wall to completely encompass a several hundred gallon tank that stretches wall-to-wall. It's long enough for multiple Sirens, and for Ain alone, it will feel like he has his own field to swim around in. No longer forced to noodle in a tube, he can swim across the whole office and follow Add as he works.

It's not just restricted to size, either. The size has allowed them to build up the sand layer on one side, giving Ain a dry-land portion where he can lay to bask in the warm lights, or just be out of the water for a bit if he wants. There are toys hidden in the sand for enrichment as well as two dens, one on dry land, and one under the water. And of course, the garden eels are already in there, bobbing around asking where their food is. There are tons of plants already planted in the sand as well.]

[Ain is gonna put on a couple pounds from this buffet, but it's okay, because he's about to zoom around his tank and all of that will go away faster than the calories can set in. Holy fuck.

He doesn't know what to say, because when he said "bigger" he was imagining double the size, not like, quadruple to quintuple that. He points at the glass walls and just says "AAA???" at first, because he's forgotten how to speak. The glass looks much thicker to accommodate this much water, and Ain presses his face to it to see the eels.

Aaaaa he's going to have to give them NAMES...]

AAA!!! [Sorry, words? Words.] It's big!! Huge!! [They had to have knocked out a couple walls for this. Ain doesn't understand walls, though, so he doesn't think much of this.] The eels are hungry!!

[He is running (read: walking very fast and strangely) (running has not been figured out yet) toward the door that leads up to the landing where the top of the tank usually is, taking his clothes off as he goes. Goodbye there is about to be a whole Siren butt—]

[Well it's a good thing Add left the tank door open, anticipating Ain would just want to throw himself headfirst into it.

Add chuckles as he leans against the side of the tank, looking up so he can watch Ain as he strips and yep there's hole okay he's quickly looking away actually-]

I take it you like it, huh?

[You will look at hole and like it, YOU fucked this fish.]

Uh-huh!!

[His clothes are discarded at the top of the landing, and there's a sudden splash as he throws himself into the water. Immediately, he's swimming down to see the eels, laying flat on his belly to give them names.

Unfortunately they are named after human foods he just ate, so uh. Meet Taco, Sandwich, and Orange.]

Add! They're hungry!! [reminder—]

Yeah yeah, I got it.

[Add is rummaging through the supply cabinet to pull out some dried fish flakes for the eels, a little scoop's worth, that he'll carry up to the top of the tank. He holds it down and wiggles it towards Ain.]

They're your pets, so you get to feed them. I can't do everything around here.

You control the food supply, though, so you have to do your part too.

[Sticks his tongue out at Add. bleh!!! But he'll swim up to grab the flakes, swim down, and hand-feed the babies that he just named after food. The eels are excited to eat out of his palm and go back to dwelling in the sand and peeking at things afterwards.

Good. All is right with the world.

Now Ain is off to explore, swimming in a wide circle and finding he can actually stretch his fin-wings out here, which means Add will get a full demonstration of exactly what function they serve, which is to allow him to turn rapidly or slow down more easily, to swim against currents without relying on his core strength. They're essentially sails, and with the ability to stretch out, they get exercise finally, no longer having to be folded up around him.

He swims. He explores the cave under the water, patpats his way around the seaweed, digs under the surface and finds where they hid his beaker of pearls. Good, good. He will put that back and go looking for his other things. There's much more sand and mud than there was before, and plants for him to swim through and hide behind ("hide" because he is long), and enough surface area for him to fully flatten out against.

Happy. And digging. Where are toyes...]

[There's a kong filled with fish under the sand somewhere, and in another place a heavy ball that won't float away like the basketball did. They also hid some chunky lengths of PVC pipe in the sand that Ain can pick up and stick his noodles in, or grab them and stick them together to try to build something. The world is his oyster truly (ha). As far as creatures go, they haven't added anything other than the eels, but that might change if Ain takes good care of his little friends over the next couple of weeks.

Add sits in his chair and takes notes as Ain explores, enamored by the way he swims through the water now that he actually has the room to do so. It makes him wonder if he'd even want to share this with another Siren, actually...]

[That's just the question, isn't it? Ain is wiggling his way around to find things and group them up in front of the tank as he finds them (it seems he's quite fastidious about where he stores things, therefore he must Locate the things before he puts them away collectively), not really thinking about anything else. Logistics like that are still difficult. Does he want to play by himself or with others? He doesn't know, he hasn't gotten that far.

He is sticking his noodles in the pipes and swimming around to look for more things. Heavy ball: located. Basketball: found in the shoal cave (that might just live there since it won't stay in his pile, honestly). More flasks: also located. Pool rings (also floaty) will get put with the basketball.

Apparently, the scientists didn't forget about giving him a speaker, though it's built into the wall and he can't grab it. He does swim up to it and move the sand out of the way before turning to Add and pointing at it.]

That's not eyes.

[He thinks that's not eyes.]

It's not.

[Add rolls back in his chair a little and grabs the remote for it, turning on the radio which- in turn- turns on the music for Ain. Immediately, he'll be able to hear music playing, some sort of top radio hit of some kind, and it won't be muffled like it is when he has to listen through the glass.]

We installed a speaker in here so you could listen to music while you were in the water. It'll probably be something to consider turning on at night when I have to leave, too.

[So it's not. DEAD silent in here.]

Oh!! It's a music thing! [A speaker, dear, he just said that.] Like your machines!

[But not the evil one (the PRINTER). Ain touches the speaker as if expecting to feel something from it, and what he gets is light water vibrations. Perfect.

He flops down next to it like a happy rabbit right on his side and listens for a while. Yes, this will do wonders for him at night.]

Yeah, you can leave it on at night. I like it.

We’ll leave it on then.

[He turns it down just a tiny bit so it isn’t blasting before he puts the remote aside…and actually puts his notes aside for once too.]

I told my boss I’m staying here tonight so I can keep an eye on you, so you’d better behave. She’s put a lot of trust in both of us to get this set up.

You're gonna stay here again? [Pause.] I haven't done anything bad!! I've been very good, that's why I got a party! You don't have anything to worry about because I'm a good boy~.

[He says, having been sassy as fuck ever since he entered this tank. Suuuure girl you've been So behaved.]

[Girl I’m pretty sure he meant you take YOURS off but Ain will have to be patient with him, this is where ADD is the stupid one.]

That's okay~. You have to sleep in your human den with what I'm assuming is a much comfier couch-thing. [Beds have not been explained to him. All beds is seaweed to Ain. Seaweed is many things when you are a Siren; it's like the cotton of the sea or something.] Maybe bigger, because you have long legs.

[Yeah. A bed.]

Anyway, your clothes are still on.

[One day Ain will visit Add’s apartment and he will see his bed and be like :0 seaweed

Anyway, the mention of clothing causes Add to stiffen. You can see the gears turning…]

Y-yeah?? Of course they are! [This horny fish-] I sleep mostly clothed, like a normal person.

[He doesn’t tend to wear a shirt to bed though sooooo]

[He SIGHS his name. The camera is still a thing, but it’s less of an excuse these days because Add and Ain have gained so much trust that nobody checks Ain’s camera but him. He could just yoink the footage again…]

You know I’m not supposed to do that. What if somebody came in unexpectedly? How would I explain that?

Haha, okay... What if we did that at night when no one is here? You don't have to sleep in here! You can sleep on your couch-thing.

[Rolling over onto his back... Look how Cute he is! Look how darling baby!]

We don't have to do anything... I can go back to chewing on things. But it's been a month, maybe, since we mated...

[This is how it starts...Ain is sooo cute and soooo good that it convinces Add to listen to him, and then once he has him in his tentacles what's he supposed to do then?

Add flushes, very much visible from where Ain's rolled over happily in the tank. Add doesn't even have the excuse that there's not enough room either, not when the tank is THIS big.]

Hehe. Right, because you have to personally check out everything and make sure it's all good to go~.

[Ain gets up and shakes the sand off his back, then starts slowly swimming back to his cave. It's a bigger cave now. Thank god for large caves.]

I'm going to make sure the bed's comfy for you~.

[And by that he means... well literally make sure it's comfy. Making sure the seaweed is squishy and bunched up okay, and not too scratchy. Moving his stuff out of the way. The works.]

[Fortunately he doesn't need to worry about dinner, given they had that massive spread at the party and it's already relatively late, so while Ain gets his tank all situated, Add takes the time to finish up his work for the evening. Ain might also spot him going to the cameras and taking their tapes out outright, completely disabling them so he doesn't have to worry about it later. He COULD let them just tape their interactions again, but...maybe some other time.

He actually finishes it all faster than he was expecting, so Ain may still be poking around his new den by the time he's done. It takes him a moment to steel himself, remembering the feeling of growing gills from last time, before he starts to slowly pull off his labcoat and his shirt. He thinks for a moment about keeping his underwear on before realizing that if he gets it soaking wet, he won't have any to wear in the morning.

Ugh.

Sorry for flashing you with his dick and balls-]

[Ain poking his head out to see what the commotion is and ohhh yay dick and balls!! Balls balls balls—

He did want to poke those again. And this time he's not in heat, so he thinks he'll be less rushed about it, too. Ain slowly swims to the top of the tank and holds his arms out, as though Add is fruity enough to dive into them.]

I'll carry you down there~. I know it's a lot deeper now.

[He'll also keep Add warm, though that shouldn't be much of a concern when Ain's tank is damn near tropical in temperature.]
