Breakfast is finished, and that means the other Sirens are asking him if he ate, and he says yes he did up there with the little hatch. From here, it's more being fussed over. This one Siren woman may or may not be a fussy future mother with how she's acting, so oops, breeding program going well out of Add's sight? Or she could just be like this. She's the one who was grilling him about his fins yesterday and washing his back, and he's being shooed off to go bathe and take care of his teeth now. She will be back within ten minutes to mother him.
This will do wonders for Add's report surely.
Otherwise, the Sirens are playing. A lot of it is chasing each other around, or chewing on things, or playing a game sort of like telephone but with quiet songs instead of sentences. If there are toys in the tank, they'll play with those. Many of them build things out of sand and stones and bones. They'll braid each other's hair and nitpick each other, scrub off dead skin and scales, treat wounds if one gets injured somehow... it's a tiny little family.

Unfortunately since Ain taught them how to ring, they will ring sometimes when they see someone, all hiding behind the large den in the back like :O to watch how the humans react. The alpha seems to take things more seriously than the littler Sirens do and doesn't exactly play, but seems to like Ain well enough to tolerate Ain's constant climbing on him.]
[Add pulls up a chair to watch Siren TV, basically. They have a lot more space given that the whole pod lives in this big tank, and there’s a lot of enrichment items for them. There’s the main den, obviously, but also multiple smaller ones for Sirens who want their own space for a bit. They have separate tanks for nursing mothers to stay in, though they’ve operated on the concept of not removing them unless there’s an emergency or they’re sick, given how social Siren pods seem to be. Having the mother with their eggs THERE is vital for the first few weeks of development, as well as social learning, as evident by this mother doting on Ain so heavily.
Seeing him interact with the others…makes him feel bad, actually. For taking Ain from his pod and isolating him, which isn’t something he ever thought he’d feel. Is Ain unhappy in his enclosure? Miserable? It’s for research, it IS important, but…
He takes notes regardless on everything he sees over the next few hours until his watch beeps at him to tell him it’s break time, prompting him to stand and go to the top of the tank to open it. The other Sirens will understand him as he speaks to Ain in their language:]
[Now Add is seeing why Ain would be so flat at night. His only socialization was with Add during the day, and with no one to come in and for him to cuddle up to, it took some adjustment on his end to get used to it, and now he's back to living with the pod for a few weeks. It's sort of like being thrown around aimlessly, drifting place to place, for him. Schedule changes can be very upsetting...
The fish has anxiety and autism leave him alone okay.
Anyway, the tank opens and Ain says bye to the others for now and galumphs out of the tank until he's far enough out of the water to Legs.]
