Well, I don't want to go home... I'm never going to be able to leave the castle ever again if my mother sees me now. Wolfwood finishes up with the fire pit while Add flips open a few of the books with his tail. Some of them look like medical tomes, so that explains a lot actually. At least the pit pretty much immediately brightens the cave with a soft blue glow, warming it almost instantly as the storm continues outside.]

Maybe you didn't fuck up horribly for once, Wolfwood. I've always wanted to try this out on something, and I never thought I'd be able to do it on a human...

This is why the Princesses scream at you, freak.

[Add ignores Wolfwood as he turns to face Ain this time, his tongue flicking from his jaws like a snake.]

I'll let you decide if you want to eat before we get started, at least.

[Okay, well now he's scared! Way to go! Ain's eyes get wide and he suddenly looks down at his knees, nervously picking at the ends of his dirty sleeves.]

I-if it's a medical treatment, isn't it better if I haven't eaten first? Or...? What are you doing, exactly...?

What do you think I'm going to do? I'm going to stitch up that third hole you made for yourself.

[He rumbles, a sort of kekeke sound. He's laughing.]

I brought herbs that can either make you not care about the pain so you can stay awake, or knock you out so you don't feel anything until we're done. The latter will mean we probably won't see you again until late tonight, fair warning.

I... don't know if I can eat with a wound in my stomach, [it's off to the side, Ain, you missed your organs,] so... maybe just do the stitches. I'll just take the drugs that'll knock me out, that way I won't know if I die.

[Add sits in front of Ain and looks over at where Wolfwood has been kindof standing there, watching, and orders:]

Since I'll be doing the hard work, you start cooking an hour before sundown. He'll wake back up by then.

[Wolfwood's gaze narrows, sparks flaring near his teeth.]

Yeah, okay. If you cooked, it'd taste like fucking ass and you know it.

So you won't have any reason to complain when you do it later, will you?

[What...are they talking about. Cooking?

Well, Ain won't get much of a chance to react, because out of nowhere there's a flash of purple light that jumps and coils around Add's form, racing from his horns down his spine as it seems to envelop him as he shrinks, and just as quickly as there was a dragon sitting in front of him, there's a Man sitting there instead. Despite his penchant for not doing this, how else did Ain think he'd get stitched? Did he think a dragon was going to do it with its teeth and claws?

Add's human form is bulky and pale, with striking white hair that fits with the white fur that goes down his spine in his dragon form. The markings on his face, chest, and arms match as well, along with the purple scales that dot his frame as he crosses his legs beneath him, pulling the books close with one hand as he reaches for a different bag with the aforementioned herbs with the other, pulling them out and crushing them into a bowl.

Also, he's completely naked. He doesn't seem to care, he's sitting there with his sheath and balls out while he mixes up this medicine for Ain to drink while Wolfwood goes back to his nest to sulk.]

[The way Ain goes bright red, sputters on whatever he was about to say, starts hackwheezing again and has to choke out a "pardon me" while he's dying into the crook of his elbow, and finally manages to clear his throat... what do you mean the dragon is a HOT MAN. A HOT NAKED MAN. Is the other one hot also? Ain's head whips around to look at Wolfwood, who is Still a dragon.

He clears his throat, absolutely objectifying the hell out of Add while he sits there feeling blood gushing out of his side. Cool.]

I... think people would be a lot less scared of you both if you shapeshifted like that sooner. Just saying...

I don't want to. I'm only doing this since it's easier to do this kind of delicate work with hands.

[Wolfwood, who is less overtly bothered, doesn't seem inclined to just shift on a whim either. Ain will have to wait until dinner time to see the second hot man. For now, Add is focused on getting this medicine prepared, and...if he notices Ain having any sort of reaction to him, he isn't pointing it out.

It's far more likely he DOESN'T notice, since. You know. He's totally a straight dragon, obviously.]

Now drink this, all of it, and then get comfortable because you'll be laying like that for a while. It's going to hit you fast.

[It will also taste bitter and gross, but Ain won't really be awake long enough to be that bothered.]

[Ain is almost certainly going to be incoherent when he wakes up and will immediately blurt out "I can't believe you're both hot" without thinking. He would've done this with the other drugs, but he can't be insufferable yet. It's too soon for that obviously.]

Okay...

[He takes the poultice and lays back slightly, chugs it, and ooh yeah okay he feels that hitting. This must be really bad for humans, or maybe just more effective than what most people ever give him at the castle... these are his last two thoughts as he tries not to lay down too awkwardly on his back.

[Ain fuckin' died, the end.

No, Ain is asleep so he thankfully won't have to be awake for the grisly details of surgery. For a mercy, it's less awful than you'd expect, though there is a lot of blood. If Ain can't handle blood, he wouldn't have liked this because his blood is everywhere. Add is fastidious about making sure it stays clean and doesn't stain their nest because he would sooner burn it than let that happen, so there's that at least. It's a relatively simple procedure to stitch up the hole Ain made in himself, then pack it over with another poultice before he wraps it with clean cloths he stole that should last for a day or so before they need changing. The stitches will need to be manually removed at some point, but they'll deal with that later.

By the time Ain does eventually come to...he'll find he's been left in one of the nests this time since it's a lot warmer there- Wolfwood's to be specific- which gives him a good vantage point of the firepit as Wolfwood prepares dinner. And since dinner prep means he too needs hands, Wolfwood has since transformed out of his dragon form while Ain was unconscious to get to work...and yes, he too is butt naked but not particularly bothered by this fact, even with his ass to the wind while he cooks. Compared to Ain, he's much darker in complexion which causes the even darker black scales he has to stand out against his skin, smooth horns curling back from thick dark locks in contrast to Add's more jagged ones. His sheath and balls are larger than Add's, somehow, which is saying a lot because Add's are nothing to sneeze at. You know, if that matters to Ain at all-

He's busy cooking, like. ACTUALLY COOKING food on flat stones over the fire, some things chopped whole and skewered instead. Apparently, they've learned after one too many encounters with human Princesses that they aren't going to be happy eating raw animal meat and nothing else.]

[Ain is just looking over at the hot men and sighing to himself as he wakes up, an audible sound that'll probably get their attention as he sits up on his elbows with a then-pained wheeze.]

Why are you guys hot...

[He's So mad about this god he wants balls in his face. This isn't fair why isn't he actively being teabagged all the time :( ]

[Wolfwood blinks, his black and blue tail flicking behind him when he hears Ain speaking up from across the way. He has rabbit thighs and onions sizzling over the fire, and judging by the pot bubbling nearby, he's had a stew simmering for quite a while. Stew and stir fried meat and vegetables is on the menu, and quite frankly the cave smells amazing now thanks to it.

He frowns, his brows furrowing.]

The fuck you sayin' over there?

[Add is sitting nearby with his back against his book pile, no longer in human form but instead back as a dragon while he looks through the open books on the floor, clearly having taken a bunch of notes about the surgery he just did while he did still have hands. He's not paying them any attention right now.]

I'm mad because if I knew you guys were gonna be hot, I might've been a little more fine with being kidnapped.

Like I said earlier, if you showed people your human-y forms, you'd probably have more luck.

[Add chimes in from the corner, lifting his head to look at Ain with his very dragon-like slitted eyes.]

What you see is what you get. Just because our forms can change doesn't change who and what we are inside.

[Ain may or may not be catching on now to what Wolfwood and Add's goal has been this entire time...regardless, Wolfwood is keeping quiet for now, his expression difficult to read as he stirs the pot nearby.]

[I MEAAN...THEY HAVEN'T SAID THEY AREN'T but who even knows honestly, whatever the case...having it just spelled out like that causes Add to hiss and completely refuse to speak further, turning his attention back to his books.

Wolfwood, meanwhile, is nowhere near as tight lipped now that the cat's out of the bag. He uses a stick to turn over the meat as it cooks. Looks like the food should be ready soon.]

Pretty much. We've been on the hunt for a partner...partners, whatever, who might wanna stay with us.

[And before Ain is like "why don't you find a dragon to mate with"-]

Our kind has nearly been hunted to extinction. You said it yourself, your people think we're nothin' more than a myth now.

Can dragons and humans interbreed? Or... would that create half-dragons? I guess that would be kinda cool, actually. [Just thinking out loud, while he watches Wolfwood cook. Is that why these dragons know medical procedures and cooking? Because they want to mate with a human?] I guess that's why you couldn't have male partners, then. Darn.

[Well, Wolfwood was going to say something along the lines of "it isn't ideal, but yeah", because it keeps their bloodline going and also satisfies the need to mate which these two...well it continues to be complicated, because both of their heads snap around as they say in unison:]

[For the first time in a while, Add and Wolfwood kindof exchange looks with one another. It's hard to say what they're thinking initially, especially with Ain being so upfront in admitting he likes men. If anything, the energy in the space seems...confused? Tense?

And then before Wolfwood can say anything, Add just decides to start speaking, because he seems Particularly Bothered suddenly.]

Are you making fun of us?

[Uh oh. Wolfwood rolls his eyes and looks at the ceiling as Add suddenly gets to his feet.]

Because you're not "like" us, "supposedly"? You do realize that we're desperate, right? Is that what you wanted to hear? Do you understand what dragons do when they're desperate?

[It is at this moment that Ain remembers he's with dragons and, even though they're taking care of them, has that very clear fear response and tries to get up out of the nest. This isn't working as much as he'd like it to, though, and instead he winds up backpedalling and pressing his back into the cave wall. Nowhere to go from here, but maybe he can find a stone if he scrambles enough and throw it...]

N, no, I... s-sorry, I was just talking... it's illegal to be gay where I'm from, so I was just... I don't know, it was stupid, I'm sorry.

[Maybe he should've taken the high drugs after all, because at least the panic attack would be a lot less than it is now.]

[Perhaps surprising to Ain, it's Wolfwood who comes to his rescue this time, stepping briefly into Add's path.

[Add makes a strangled sound, says something harshly in a language Ain won't understand, then turns away to sulk in the corner with his book pile. Seems like he and Wolfwood aren't that different, in that regard!! There's as much similar about them as there is different...and there's a reason for everything, it seems as Wolfwood returns to the fire pit to start pulling food off the hot stones, placing them on cooler ones that can be easily handled. He'll start scooping the stew into bowls as well.]

He's just gonna beat around the bush, so I'll spell it out for you. When he says "desperate", he ain't talkin' about you. Hurtin' you, or eatin' you, or whatever you're thinkin'. He's talkin' about us.

[Us, as in the two dragons that are weirdly living together, despite bickering all the damn time...

Wolfwood looks at Ain before setting the food down in front of the nest on the cave floor, figuring he's too afraid to let it be handed to him directly.]

We're mates. We've been mates for a long time.

[Thank god Ain rolled an 18 on his "not panicking harder" roll because he'd be under the bedding if that were the case. As it is, Wolfwood coming closer also alarms him despite everything, and it takes Ain a minute or two to move over to the stew. Well, at least it'll be cooled down enough to eat now...

...he Thought y'all were having a gay situationship. What he doesn't understand is why no one said that when he said "yeah I like guys :) I'm so not relatable haha", but whatever. He's just going to eat his soup and try not to cry into it. The anxious vibes are bad with this one.]

[Is all he says for a while, while he picks at his food because he's really not all that hungry, if he's honest with himself here.]

[This definitely isn't going ideally, but Wolfwood isn't sure what else to do. Add is going to stay in the corner for a while so he can come back and eat whenever he's ready, though he's going to have to shapeshift if he wants any of this food. They won't be super filled by it, but there's enough for all of them, so like...why not?

It's good to see Ain actually go for the food though, even if he isn't super enthused by it. Wolfwood sighs and takes his own portion, sitting down next to the fire pit to start eating, heedless to the heat since fire doesn't bother him.

The long and short of it is that they both feel like massive failures of their species. Even coming across another human who is like "yeah I like men" had a different immediate response in both of them, and it seems Add's was to freak out and shove both feet in his mouth. Understandable, considering his background. Wolfwood, on the other hand...

He's going to stay quiet for a bit while he eats, staying in his human form not just for the fact it's easier to eat when you're small.]

...I didn't think humans could like men. Isn't that also kinda not conducive to the survival of your species?

[Look, it's not that he's not enthused with it, it's just that the panic and stress and injury is an appetite-killer. Ain eats, for what it's worth, he's just slower about it than he would be if he wasn't in a bad state right now. The boys are going to be So Shocked when Ain eats his entire weight in food in a week or two when this heals.]

Yeah, but it's not that common. Most people are heterosexual. There are some people that like both, but again, my kingdom outlaws same-sex relationships. Men, women, whatever, it doesn't matter.

[So, maybe they can see a little bit of why Ain didn't want to live there anymore.]
